  • Willo lists $59 per live role for occasional hiring; Hireflix advertises annual plans from $75 a month with unlimited interviews.
  • The useful number is not the plan's lowest possible cost. Calculate subscription, overage, unused capacity, setup and reviewer minutes per completed interview.

How do AI interview tools charge?

Most products use one of four models:

  1. Per completed result. You buy credits or interviews and pay when a candidate produces a result.
  2. Monthly capacity. The plan includes a number of interviews, seats or active roles, then charges overage.
  3. Per live role. You pay while a role is open, regardless of the number of responses inside the plan limit.
  4. Annual platform subscription. Video interviews sit inside an ATS or hiring suite with other features.

The models are not interchangeable. Ribbon's price includes sourcing and outreach. Spark Hire's current Recruit pricing includes applicant tracking features. Tracy's published price covers the interview result. Compare the work included before comparing the dollar amount.

Three parts of an interview cost calculation: fees, usage and reviewer time.

What do published AI interview prices look like?

ProductPublished starting priceModelImportant limit or condition
Tracy AI Interviewer$7 per creditCompleted result lengthOne credit for each started 20 minutes; three results free
Ribbon Growth$499/month billed annuallyMonthly interview capacity100 interviews; $4 overage
Spark Hire Recruit Pro$335/month billed annuallyATS subscriptionAnnual contract; one-way video included
Willo Lite$59/live rolePer open roleIntended for occasional hiring
Hireflix Small$75/month billed yearlyFlat subscriptionVendor advertises unlimited interviews

These products do different jobs. Hireflix and Willo center on one-way recorded responses. Ribbon combines recruiting operations with interviews. Spark Hire bundles video into an ATS. Tracy runs a two-way spoken interview with follow-ups. Start with one-way vs two-way interviews if the required format is not settled.

How should you calculate cost per candidate?

Use completed interviews, not invited candidates or plan capacity:

cost per completed interview = (subscription + overage + monthly setup allocation + reviewer cost) / completed interviews

Example: a team buys Ribbon Growth for $499 and completes 60 of the included 100 interviews. The subscription portion is $8.32 per completed interview, not $4.99. If a recruiter spends eight minutes reviewing each result at an employment cost of $45 an hour, review adds $6 per result. The working total becomes $14.32 before implementation and integration costs.

Run the same calculation for your current process. Include scheduling, reminders, the screen itself, note-taking and manager review. Ribbon's own calculator separates platform cost from recruiter time and labels the result as an estimate.

The detailed plan arithmetic is in Ribbon pricing. Tracy's pricing is length-based, so a 35-minute completed interview uses two credits and costs $14 at list price.

Which hidden costs matter?

Reviewer time

A one-way video may be inexpensive to collect but expensive to watch. Measure the full review path, including replay, notes and manager handoff. For an AI-generated report, measure correction time and how often the reviewer opens the recording.

Unused capacity

Annual subscriptions assume steady demand. Divide by actual monthly completions during both peak and quiet periods. Ask whether unused interviews carry forward.

Roles, seats and integrations

Some plans limit active roles or team seats. ATS mapping, SSO, support and data migration may require a higher tier or implementation fee.

Candidate drop-off

An incomplete interview consumes outreach and recruiter attention without producing a result. Track completion by device, role and candidate group. Do not turn a vendor's completion claim into your forecast.

Contract scope

Pricing pages change. Put the interview allowance, overage, support, retention, implementation and renewal terms into the written order form.

Which pricing model fits your hiring pattern?

Hiring patternModel to test first
Occasional skilled rolesPer completed result
Many open roles with predictable volumeMonthly capacity
A few campaigns with many applicantsPer live role or flat one-way subscription
Recruiting-suite replacementAnnual platform subscription
Seasonal volumePer result, flexible capacity or a written downgrade path

Price should follow the interview job. Teams hiring engineers and experts may pay more for a result that contains useful follow-ups. Teams checking basic eligibility may need a shorter, cheaper format. See best AI interview software for the product comparison and AI interview reports for the evidence test.

Questions

How much does an AI interview cost?

Published prices range from per-result credits to monthly or annual subscriptions. Tracy starts at $7 for a completed result up to 20 minutes. Ribbon starts at $499 a month billed annually for 100 interviews.

Which AI interview tools publish prices?

Tracy, Ribbon, Spark Hire, Willo and Hireflix publish at least one price. HireVue and several enterprise AI interviewers require a quote.

What is the cheapest model for occasional hiring?

Pay-per-result or pay-per-live-role models avoid a year-round subscription. Compare Tracy's credits with Willo's $59 live-role plan for the format you need.

What cost do buyers usually miss?

Reviewer time is the common hidden cost. A low subscription price can still be expensive if hiring managers must watch every recording or correct weak summaries.

Should cost per interview include unused capacity?

Yes. Divide the actual monthly subscription by completed interviews, not by the plan maximum.
